Job Title: Private Client Account Handler

Salary: £25,000-£40,000 Depending On Experience

Reports To: Managing Director HR Owen

Division: Private Clients HR Owen

Overall objective

To service and administer private clients in a timely, professional and efficient manner, identifying and responding to opportunities as they arise to increase the company’s insurance income

Main duties/responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing and converting leads into sales
  • Arranging clients meetings with a view to rounding out accounts by building rapport and cross selling products/services
  • Ensure instructions are processed, recorded and confirmed in a timely and efficient manner
  • To help identify cross-selling opportunities and potential gaps in client cover
  • comply with relevant regulatory requirements and the company’s procedures
  • Ensure that client insurance premiums are collected in accordance with the company’s credit terms
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, insurers and other suppliers
  • Undergo training in line with agreed objectives and keep up to date with technical, legal and market developments
  • Maintain and develop personal knowledge and skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Immediately to advise your Manager of any problems which may fall outside your authority, level of experience or which in any way detract from your ability to achieve your work objectives
  • Undertake any additional duties, or assist other members of staff, as may be reasonably requested by your Manager or the Directors
  • Advising clients on and handling all classes of personal lines insurance
  • New Business, renewals, midterm adjustments
  • Issuing motor cover notes

Knowledge & Skills required:

  • A good understanding of – household and motor insurance, the company’s procedures and rules and, to the extent it relates to the Job, regulation and compliance, personal lines insurance market practice, principles of insurance.
  • A high level – other types of personal lines insurance, the main methods controlling/reducing insurance risk, specific law (insurance and otherwise).
  • Understanding of the High Net Worth insurance market
  • Effective communicator

  • Organised with the ability to prioritise and organise own workload

  • Confident with face to face client meetings to discuss the clients demands and needs
  • Training & Competence
  • Working towards or CII Qualified

IT knowledge/understanding required:

  • Intermediate Insurance platform experience, Acturis a distinct advantage
  • Proficient MS Office Suite
