Computer All Risks & Equipment Breakdown

Computer “All Risks” insurance provides cover for loss of or damage to your computer equipment/systems, including electronic data processing installations such as hard disk drives, disks, tapes, cards etc.  Portable media such as laptops, tablets, smart phones etc can also be included under the policy. Cover can be arranged on your premises only, anywhere in the UK, anywhere in Europe, or anywhere in the world should portable media need to be taken away from site.

The policy provides cover for replacement of the computer equipment/system itself, as well as reinstatement of lost data back onto the replacement computer system.  Increased costs incurred to keep the business operating as a result of the lost equipment/data, e.g. hiring in temporary computer systems, is also provided by a Computer “All Risks” policy.

 

Equipment Breakdown insurance provides cover for any broken or burnt out part of the item which arises from mechanical or electrical defects in the equipment that causes the equipment to cease operation.  This type of insurance is commonly purchased for pressure plant, lifting equipment etc.
