Christmas fundraising and charity donations

Several of our offices have been busy preparing for the festive season by organising charity collections and donations. Our employees in Lombard Street and Holyrood Street supported the Kids Out charity by having ‘Giving Trees’ in both offices.

The Giving Tree project distributes a toy to every child living in a Women’s Aid Federation refuge during the festive period. Many of the children supported by the Giving Tree initiative will have been forced to flee their homes quickly and leave their toys and possessions behind. Staff donated a wide variety of toys and gifts, which will be distributed to children across the UK.

Our Head office in Guildford collected coats, gloves, hats and scarfs that were donated to The Light Room, a project that supports the homeless in the Salisbury area. Recent research by the charity Crisis estimates that over 24,000 people in Britain will spend the festive season sleeping rough or in tents, cars and buses. Staff in Guildford also collected food, gifts and festive treats, which were donated to a local project that the Guildford office regularly supports. These items are packaged up into Christmas hampers that were delivered to 75 local families in need.

Staff from our Manchester office raise funds throughout the year with regular fundraising dress down days. They use these funds to support local charities, and this Christmas they will be donating a variety of food items to Trafford South Food Bank. The Trafford South Food Bank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Both our offices in Poole (Cabot Lane and Quay House) will be having a fundraising  dress down day on the 21 December in aid of the Lewis-Manning hospice.  The hospice offers free specialist palliative nursing care to the people of Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding area that are living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Our Holyrood Street office in London will also be fundraising on the 21 December with a Christmas jumper day and festive-themed games.
